SUA Message's for the Conference/Reunion, Medicine in LA

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

On behalf of the Shiraz University Association (SUA), I welcome all of you, particularly friends attending from Iran , to this wonderful Department of Medicine Program. I would like to note that our SUA organization encompasses the entire Shiraz University System: namely both Shiraz University and Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and we are functioning as one unit.

From the inception of the SUA, our objectives have been to arrange important and valuable meetings such as this, but also have regular Conference/ Reunions in which we revisit our old friends and find new ones but also have a chance to listen to colleagues who give a variety of valuable presentations in their professional specialty.

The most important mission of SUA is to seek ways by which we can give a helping hand to our colleagues and students at Shiraz University and Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. As all of us know, SUA has a large number of members who are accomplished professionals in many fields and are also capable and willing to give help to the two Shiraz Universities in the form of lectures, work-shops, research and scholarships.

At present two of our SUA Board members are attending the Reunion in Shiraz and have the task to talk to the officials of the two universities and arrange for the formation of a Coordinating Committee between the SUA and the SUAA (the Shiraz University Alumni Association). This committee will have the responsibility to make plans, administer the academic services and establish cooperation between the SUA members, the SUAA and the present faculty and students of both universities in Shiraz .

I would like to request that all of you participate and help in these worthy endeavors.

The SUA is an Officially Registered Corporation in the State of California and it has been recognized by IRS as a Tax Exempt organization.

Finally, I would like to ask you to mark your calendar for the 2008 SUA Reunion/Conference which will be held in San Diego , possibly toward the end of July and the beginning of August, and hopefully the 2009 Reunion/Conference in Shiraz .

Lastly, I would like very much to thank Dr. Nasr, Dr. Moghissi and Dr. Ismailbeigi for their tireless efforts in organizing this wonderful meeting.
