MR. ABRAHAM AYVAZIAN

Mr. Abraham Ayvazian, M.S., is the president of Shiraz University Alumni Association. He received his M.S. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Pahlavi (now Shiraz) University in 1972. Mr. Ayvazian is an outstanding and creative scientist. He is the designer and the manufacturer of the first and the only Iranian wind power plant. In spite of many limitations and against odds, he is a successful entrepreneur in Iran employing a number of young engineers and scientists in his firm. He is an active member of the Iranian National Electrotechnical committee. Through his and others' efforts, Iran resumed her membership in the International Electronics Commissions (IEC) after a long absence following the revolution. He was the organizer and a speaker of an international workshop in Electromagnetic Compatibility in the School of Engineering at Shiraz University in March of 2003. He organized and managed a very successful Shiraz University Reunion in Shiraz in October of 2003. The reunion attended by over 600 alumni and featured a variety of general presentations impacting Iran and three workshops in the fields of medicine, chemistry, and engineering. Also a number of social events as well as entertainment were organized for the evenings. As the president of the Shiraz University Alumni Association, Mr. Ayvazian has dedicated his time and energy to expand the association and embrace all the affiliated organizations to function effectively and harmoniously in order to enable the association members all over the globe to achieve their goals and fulfill their mission.
