Dear Friends:

I would like to update you on our progress on the excellent program that we are going to have for the Shiraz/Pahlavi University Conference/Reunion. The registration will be on Friday, July 18th. On the 800th anniversary of our great Sufi-Poet Moulana Rumi, SUA is planning to have “A Night of Music and Poetry with Moulana”, on Friday Night. On Saturday morning, there will be a session on Moulana and his contribution to the world. Presentations on Moulana will be given by 3 well-known experts in “Moulana Shenassi”. We also plan to have presentations, panel discussions on health, science, second generation Iranian-Americans as well as Iranian culture and history.

We will have a gala night of Persian music, dance and entertainment and dinner on Saturday evening. The final draft of the program including the names of the speakers and panelists will be posted later as will the registration forms and fees. Please mark your calendar to attend this exciting meeting.

We have been able to arrange for hotel rooms to be reserved by our guests at the beautiful Townand Country Resort and Convention Center at a reasonable price. Please go to the hotel information (Here).

and make your room reservation on-line or by telephone ASAP. I would like to note that our group needs to use a certain number of rooms in order to use their meeting halls free of charge.

Friends from Iran: Since obtaining visas from the US Consulates takes time (~ 5 months), Please send your info to me ASAP, so that I can send you an official invitation letter to facilitate your visas. We are also planning to give your info to the US Consulate in Dubai before you go for your appointment at the Consulate: Info: full name, position and place of employment, year of graduation from Shiraz University, degree and field of study, your home address, including the Street No. and the postal code. For introduction to the US Consulate in Dubai, please forward your confirmation ID, appointment date and time, passport number, barcode number, tel. no. and e-mail address.
