Dear Colleagues:

Thank you for arranging the Shiraz University reunion. It is a very good idea. The problem that I have with it is that why in San Diego? Why not in Shiraz? It is true that San Diego is convenient for the people who live in California and the US, in general. However, the fact is that Shiraz University is in Shiraz not in San Diego. I would be happy to attend the reunion if it is held in Shiraz.

Regards,

Mahmood Moaveni Electrical Engineering

Dear Mahmood Moaveni:

The answer to your question is actually in the Announcement. The idea is to build an association of Shiraz University associates (Faculty & Graduates), and finally joining these associations of different universities together. I am sure you can imagine the benefits of this, not only for those living outside Iran, but also in their relations to the colleagues and students at the universities in Iran. There are a huge number of highly educated Iranian scientists and professionals outside Iran that have no connections to each other. In regard to having the Reunion in Iran (in this case Shiraz), they can have the next Reunion in Iran, after having established their organization here. Last year we had the Reunion 2000 of Sharif (formerly Aryamehr) University here. More than 50 came from Iran, including the current President of Sharif University Dr. Sohrabpour and 2 of his Vice-presidents. As you know Dr. Sohrabpour was at the Shiraz University. I hope that this explanation was helpful and you will encourage your colleagues and former students to contact us.

Regards,

Fredun Hojabri
